Additionally, the theme of injustice leading to the dark side or causing someone to become evil forms part of the story, not only in terms of Sela but supporting characters as well. The photographs were intriguing, and the information about the behaviors and habitats of these creatures was often surprising and generally fascinating. I am very disappointed in this book. At times I found it hard to believe I was reading an academic book because it was just a very well written book (and highly researched with dozens of pages of endnotes).
